SIMULTANEOUS wants to study and develop, with a minimal proof of concept, a platform able to simulate operational scenarios of a UTM/ATM system to allow individual operators to interact in real time with the static and / or dynamic modeling of urban airspace, respecting the functional requirements of vehicle manufacturers, vertiporti operators and EASA regulations. The interaction of the operators will be done with the use of advanced HMIs based on a tactical table built using eXtended Reality technologies.
Co-funded by the PNRR through the MOST Programme (Sustainable Mobility Center -CENTRO NAZIONALE PER LA MOBILITA' SOSTENIBILE), the project wants to allow individual operators to interact in real time with the static and / or dynamic modeling of urban airspace, respecting the functional requirements of vehicle manufacturers, vertiporti operators and EASA regulations. The interaction of the operators will be done with the use of advanced HMIs based on a tactical table built using eXtended Reality technologies.
Create a system that integrates existing air traffic management methods for airports into the urban airspace environment, aiming to enhance the operational efficiency of individual air traffic management operators.
Use augmented reality to dynamically incorporate future urban air traffic controllers into the operational environment. This will provide an advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to improve situational awareness and facilitate real-time assessments of route planning, adjustments, and rerouting within the complex urban context.
Develop a dedicated platform that models urban airspace in four dimensions and simulates various operational scenarios. This will allow operators to visualize and interact with urban air traffic dynamically, improving both planning and operational efficiency.
Implement a simulation environment within the platform for training air traffic controllers. This will enable effective and comprehensive training, reflecting the hours required by law for controllers, and ensuring they are well-prepared for managing urban air traffic scenarios.
